A NEW season of free sport has kicked off for Wyre youngsters.
A whole range of sports, including football, althetics and climbing, is available every week as part of the Trysport scheme.

The council run project aims to encourage young people to enjoy physical activity and relieve after-school boredom.

The
re is no cost to Wyre families and youngsters, aged between eight and 16, can drop in and out of sessions as they please.

All that's needed is bags of enthusiasm for trying different sports. All sessions are run by qualified coaches, there are also sessions for disabled and autistic young people.

The programme makes use of Fleetwood Sports College and various outdoor multi-use games areas.

Ashley Hackett, community sports co-ordinator for Wyre Borough Council, said: "Trysport has become really popular in Wyre since we launched it two years ago. The schemes we ran in Fleetwood and Preesall over the summer attracted more than 200 youngsters so it makes sense to keep them going.

More details about Trysport times and venues is available on the website at www.wyrebc.gov.uk/Find/Trysport or from Ashley Hackett on 01253 887379.
