THREE Fleetwood pubs will be playing host to "live" rock music this Saturday night.
Velocity, who started as a covers band but now also play their own highly-rated material, will be taking to the stage at the Strawberry Gardens on Poulton Road.

Meanwhile, the newly-re-opened Royal Oak on Lord Street will see Crawdaddy in action.

Led by singer Peter McLaughlin, who has featured in numerous Fleetwood bands such as The Healers, Freeloader and 90s combo Roadhouse, Crawdaddy also include members from The Auditors.

And down at The Steamer on Dock Street, popular covers band Flashback are performing.

All the bands will in action from 9.30pm onwards.

Meanwhile, Fleetwood-based music promoter Keith Yates is settling up a jam night at the Royal Oak every Thursday night between 8pm and 10.30pm.

He is setting up the weekly sessions with the new Royal Oak licensee Keith Dewitt.

Ex-pro musician Keith Yates, well known in Fleetwood as the Tram Sunday festival chairman, said: “There is a lot of musical talent in Fleetwood and we want to encourage it.

“People can come along with their electric or acoustic instruments and just let their hair down.”

And Keith Jewitt said: “People who are just learning the ropes can come along too. It will be a very relaxed kind of thing for people interested in playing “live” music.”
