WHILST tending to my parents' grave at the weekend in Fleetwood Cemetery, I was appalled to see how the grass has been left to grow.
I’m talking mainly about the central part of the cemetery where some of the older graves are.

The grass was so long, it was even covering some of the lettering on the headstones, it hadn’t been cut for days!

And what has annoyed me more than anything is the fact that the council is trying to make people remove ornaments from graves to help cemetery workers cut the grass!

If it can’t be kept tidy where the old graves are and where there aren’t any fencing or mementoes left on graves, then why are they forcing families with graves in the new part of the cemetery to remove their sentimental items?

It doesn’t make sense to me.

If they can’t be bothered cutting the grass anyway, then what’s the point of upsetting everyone!

Come on Wyre Borough, get the mower out!

Margaret Lark,

Fleetwood
