FLEETWOOD Festive Lights Committee have been hit by extra expense - and they are appealing for a little more help from local folk.

Committee members have been told that the lights are likely to cost much more this year - almost £15,000.
The old wiring and bulbs were deemed unlikely to stand up to the rigours of the weather so the committee needed to buy more energy efficient
LED lighting to provide a brand new, modern display.
As well as those additional costs, the committee have been told by Wyre Council they are responsible for the pole sockets in the street, costing several hundred further pounds.
It all means that a final extra push is needed to ensure the big switch-on, taking place on Thursday November 29, is the best one yet.
Committee secretary Malcolm Ratcliffe said: "We were shocked when we realised that we will need to find more cash - especially as we have all worked so hard already to raise funds.
"Because of this, it is imperative that the people and businesses of the town renew their efforts to help out with donations and fundraising if there is to be a good display this year."
Sponsorship has already come from the Cala Gran, Simmo Developments, Freeport, Apple Tree Estates, Wyre Community Safety Partnership and Wyre Housing Association, with further help from Asda and Iceland.
And more than 250 letters have gone out to all the shops and businesses in the town.
Ex-Coronation Street star Bruce Jones (Les Battersby) will throw the switch on the big day.
Meanwhile, there is a further fund-raiser tonight in the form of a children's Halloween party at Fleetwood United Reform Church Hall, Agnew Road, at 6 -8pm.
Children must be accompanied by an adult to the event, costing £2 per head.
