OUTDOOR play facilities in Fleetwood's Warren ward are extremely poor and need to be improved, says a councillor who represents the ward.
Coun Denise Minto is calling for a new site to be found with much improved activities for local children and families.

She says the Riversgate play area on Mersey Road is the only play area in the ward and it consists of just one slide and a climbing frame.

She said: “Wyre Council needs to catch up with other authorities when it comes to providing much needed adventure themed areas to stimulate play.

“I am looking for public support and suggestions as to where an adventure-themed area could be sited in order to press forward calls to the Council to find more for the kids to do in our area.”

The councillor wants residents in the ward to contact her with their ideas by either writing to her at Wyre Council in Poulton, or by visiting the Beehive centre on Manor Road where monthly PACT meetings are held.
