PLANS for a new block of flats in Laidleys Walk have been thrown out by Wyre planners.

It was good news for residents who live nearby who spoke out angrily against the plans fearing the towering structure would be too imposing.
Builders Melrose wanted to put a block of 15 apartments in a three storey block on land at the corner of Laidley's Walk and Manor Road.
It's the old site of the Cofflers pub which has been demolished.
Resident Pauline Neve, who would have had the block just 11ft 6ins from the side of her seafront semi said she was delighted.
She said the idea filled her with horror and would have had occupants glaring into her kitchen and garden.
Counc Mark Hamer said the building would not fit into the area and the immediate neighbours would be swamped.
