Fleetwood Town 4, Blyth Spartans 2.
Goals either side of the break from Nick Rogan helped Town secure a seventh successive home win in Blue Square North to maintain their three-point lead at the top.
There were also two goals for Blyth's prolific striker Paul Brayson but that could not prevent Town stretching the only unbeaten home record in the division to 15 matches.
Rogan, who also scored two in the 8-0 thumping of Redditch, was named in the starting line-up alongside top scorer Adam Warlow – two of the four changes from the 2-0 midweek win over Farsley Celtic.
Left-back Alan Wright failed a fitness test, meaning a first start for
John Hills since November's FA Trophy win over Northwich Victoria – who hammered Blyth 5-1 in midweek – while Steven Connors was also unavailable and Steve Torpey started in midfield.
The big freeze of recent weeks gave way to fog, which hung around all day.
Town had the better of the early chances and took the lead with Warlow's 17th goal of the season after 19 minutes.
Nathan Pond and Sean Clancy linked up well, enabling the prolific striker to slot home.
Town continued to find space and create openings while remaining solid at the back.
Indeed, Blyth's first attack of note did not arrive until the 37th minute, when Brayson fired wide.
And Town further emphasised their superiority on 42 minutes, when Rogan moved on to a through ball from Torpey to beat keeper Mark Bell for his fifth goal of the season.
Torpey almost added a third on the stroke of half-time but saw his well-struck shot brilliantly saved by Bell.
The home side continued to enjoy plenty of possession at the start of the second half, with Hills clearly enjoying his return to the side and combining well with Clancy down the flank.
The third goal on 58 minutes came as no surprise, Rogan pouncing on a loose ball following Torpey's shot.
There seemed no way back for Blyth and it was very much against the run of play that they got on the scoresheet after 68 minutes.
Following a rare foray upfield, the visitors forced a corner from which Brayson tapped home.
The hard-working Rogan received a generous round of applause from the Cod Army as he was replaced by Michael Wilde on 74 minutes, Jamie McGuire having come on for Torpey on the hour.
Blyth did pose further problems before Nathan Pond ended any slim hopes of a fightback with Town's fourth on 85 minutes. Fleetwood players were queuing up to capitalise on captain Jamie Milligan's cross and it was Pond who poked home at the far post.
Again Town relaxed, however, and two minutes later Brayson pounced for his second of the game and fifth in eight days.
Blyth finished strongly and keeper Danny Hurst needed to be at his acrobatic best to deny them a third.
Warlow was named man of the match in front of a crowd of 1,033 – the 13th four-figure attendance at Highbury Stadium this season.
Besides the two goals conceded, the only disappointment of the day was title rivals Southport's 3-0 home win over Telford, which keeps them within striking distance of Town from two fewer matches.
Neither side has a midweek match and Fleetwood conclude their run of seven successive home games against play-off candidates Hinckley next Saturday.
