Licence service to welcome new minister

THE new vicar of Fleetwood is due to arrive this Friday.
Canon John Hall will be licensed to serve the parishes of St Peter's and St David's at a service at St Peter's attended by the Bishop of Blackburn the Rt Rev Nicholas Reade.

His arrival will end a two-year wait for the churches although he will be commuting to his new parish for the time being.

The Blackburn diocese is renovating a property on Mount Road as a new vicarage. The work will see the demolition of single-storey rear extension and conservatory with a new extension and conservatory.

Canon Hall is living in Bolton-le-Sands. He was previously vicar of joint parishes near Carnforth: Warton and Yealand Conyers.

Canon Hall is married to Sandra and has three teenage children. He is a member of the Church of England's General Synod and maintains the Blackburn Diocese's link with the church in Bloemfontain in South Africa.
