AN innovative way to rekindle the fun of board games is proving to be a winner at Fleetwood Library.

A board game group is going from strength to strength as youngsters battle it out with Connect Four, Cludo, Chinese Chequers and Battleship.

The group which has been running for a while sees groups of families turn up every Saturday morning to play the games.

Library assistant Michelle Gutarra, said: “It has been a real success and it’s a great way for children to interact with each other, particularly for those without siblings to play with.

“It’s also great for children to have a go at traditional board games instead of console gaming.”

The group meets every Saturday at Fleetwood Library.

They can play the Shrek game, Disney snakes and ladders and the Boggle Word Game to name just a few. It runs from 11am to noon.
