AND you thought it had a flat face before.
This amazing shot shows the lasting impression left by an owl after it collided with a window in Poulton.
Margaret Culpin thought nothing of it when she heard a small bang at the window one night at her home.
But the next day, when she went to find out what had happened, she was stunned to discover a detailed impression of an owl left on the glass.
And when Mrs Culpin showed the image to friends they were so amazed they urged her to contact The Gazette.
She added: "I heard the impact at about 11.15pm about two weeks ago but I thought nothing of it and I didn't even get up to look.
"The next day I looked around the bungalow and couldn't see any feathers or anything so I thought nothing of it.
"It wasn't until the next day that I noticed the imprint left on the window and when I showed friends they said it was an owl."
The image, shot by Gazette photographer Bill Johnson, shows the accurate detail of the bird's plumage as its wings were fully spread in flight.
The impact left no other trace and the bird appears to have escaped unharmed.
Mrs Culpin said: "As far as I know the creature was not hurt because it seems to have flown away. It might have a bit of a headache though."
