WHILE Fleetwood Town FC are taking on Northwich Victoria on Saturday, left-back Alan Wright will be otherwise engaged playing against the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United.
And while Town's FA Trophy tie is at their Highbury home, Wright has been drawn away ... around 6,500 miles away!

The veteran flies out to Malaysia and Vietnam this week to take part in Masters Tour Asia, a showcase for former Premier League stars.

The 38-year-old is familiar with Masters tournaments - six-a-side indoor competitions for over-35s - having represented Aston Villa over the summer.

This time will he playing for another of his former clubs, Sheffield United, who have entered the Asia event for the first time, alongside regulars Liverpool and United, whose stars include Andrew Cole, Andrei Kanchelskis and Jason McAteer.

Before his brief mid-season 'loan' from Town, Wright signed off in style by getting Saturday's 8-0 rout of Redditch under way with the opener after 35 seconds, his first Town goal.

Wright said: "I got a call asking if I was able to play in Asia and the gaffer has given me the go-ahead."

"It's worked out well regarding our Blue Square North fixture list and I'm looking forward to the trip.

"Besides Sheffield United, I'll also represent the Liverpool team against the Vietnam national team.

"It will be good to catch up with a few faces from the past but I won't be treating it as a holiday. We've some tough games coming up in the league and my match fitness will be kept going with the games over there."
