Prior to Tuesday’s 2-1 victory at Lincoln City, Town had managed only one win from 15 games in all competitions.
Away results had been most concerning: five defeats in six matches on the road since the turn of the year, the exception being a goalless draw at Wigan Athletic.

“We did what we needed to do,” said Grayson, after inflicting what was only Shrewsbury’s second home defeat since October.
“It’s been a good few days, beating Lincoln as well. You can’t ask for two better results away from home and the performances have been good as well.
“It was always going to be a tough game for us at Shrewsbury, who have decent players. They’ve been on a good home run and we needed to do whatever we needed to do to win.

“We’ve taken seven points in the past week and if we’d scored a penalty against Accrington it could have been three wins on the bounce.
“But to wake up in a morning after back-to-back wins is certainly a better feeling after the run we’d been on.”
