Schoolchildren travelled the globe in just one day for a foreign languages project.

The pupils at Medlar with Wesham CE Primary School learned languages, made flags and tasted foreign foods as part of a modern foreign languages day.

The youngsters learned phrases in French, German, Spanish and Russian, sang songs in German, created artwork based on French artists and made Polish, Latvian and Russian flags.

And in Year Five pupils tasted German foods of smokes cheese, pretzels, rye bread and German sausage.
